  1. Japanese Course Review

    4

Overall, I was slightly underwhelmed by this course, although it was good to have deadlines and a goal. I felt it should probably include more guides, weekly/daily vocabulary, and practice sheets, preferably print outs. More emphasis on how to read hiragana would be incredibly helpful (I was able to use free sources online) and more practical.

  2. A great introduction to a fascinating language

I enjoyed this course immensely. It gave me a really good introduction to Japanese, covering lots of very useful vocabulary and structures as well as providing a grounding in the hiragana script. The conversations and the activities are all very engaging and very well presented. I also found Gurei San’s cultural insights very interesting and informative. There was a quite a lot about Japanese food and drink which was great. A real highlight for me was the two live lessons with Gurei San and some fellow students. The conversation lessons provided a brilliant way of revising the course material and building up some confidence in speaking and listening. Gurei San was very encouraging and it was amazing how much we covered in just two lessons. Many thanks for this wonderful course. ありがとうございました!
