This is my first experience designing a language course in a language that I am not fluent in. We designed this course with you in mind.

If you have taken a few years of Spanish in high school but really can’t understand anything you hear and can’t say anything other than a few greetings and “yo quiero taco bell” then this course is for you. If you believe that languages are not your thing and were never able to make much progress in any foreign language then this course is for you. It is not for absolute beginners and it is not for people who are already fluent in Spanish.

This course will be like nothing you have taken before. When I design courses I never center them around “grammar rules”. You are not going to finish this course and say “we learned the present tense and plurals” you probably will not know what grammar we learned at all but you will walk out actually being able to talk about things, your comprehension will improve, and you will experience what it’s like to actually ENJOY learning a foreign language.

The course is built around a story. Elena is going for a trip of her life to countries in Latin America. Join her and you will not only pick up Spanish along with her but also the rich culture of the countries she is visiting.

  1. I've enjoyed it

    5

I am so happy I’ve started the course. It was fun, informative, entertaining and very well balanced: videos, audios, interactive tests kept my interest every time. It suited well to my beginner Spanish speaker level: at some point, it was to difficult but it helped me to improve, when the rest time it was very entertaining and quite easy so it cheered me up and kept me going forward. I also really enjoyed our group chat and calls. It nice to communicate with people from different countries and traditions. Thanks to Anna and her partners.

This was such an amazing course filled with so much invaluable content! I felt like we were traveling through Latin America with Elena! It was at the right level where it was familiar, yet a little challenging in order to expose you to new vocab, sentence structures, etc. I’m so happy I took that course – I loved the group lessons with Rodolfo and being able to speak with such a passionate group of Spanish language learners. Thanks A Learning Space for a great course!

  3. Great story with a plethora of learning devices integrated into one course!

    5

The course design was absolutely fantastic. This course integrated an engaging story that brought us to different Spanish-speaking countries introducing major cultural events, videos and music, practice in writing, weekly speaking in groups, and even a recipe to make papusas, a food native to El Salvador. No two lessons are the same design, which keeps the learning engaging. It’s difficult to create a course targeted for intermediate learners, since intermediate is so much broader in vocabulary and proper grammar usage, but with our group, I think we found that everyone was able to communicate our ideas, understand the stories, and help each other with our deficits. 🙂
I’d highly recommend this course for anyone who is considering.

  4. Great confidence booster and vocabulary expander

This course helped me to become much more secure with my speaking abilities in Spanish and I am more confident within a group setting. I am more comfortable even when I do not understand something. I know how to ask for clarification which helps with expanding vocabulary.
